Glass insulator devices are made of glass, so they are called glass insulators. The most widely used type in power lines is tempered glass insulators.
Features
(1) Compared with porcelain, it has a very high dielectric strength;
(2) High electrical resistivity;
(3) Compared with porcelain insulators, it has higher tensile strength;
(4) Due to its transparent nature, it will not be heated in sunlight like porcelain;
(5) The impurities and bubbles inside the glass insulator body are easily detected due to their transparency;
